By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Procera Networks (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of intelligent policy enforcement, has just received a $2 million third follow-on order from a North American Cable MSO.This order comes close on the heels of a $6 million order awarded by the MSO in September 2011.

"This third follow-on order reflects Procera's strength in the MSO markets and the movement towards service delivery based on the analytics provided by Report Studio," said Cam Cullen, vice president of Global Marketing at Procera, in a statement.

Cullen added that operators continue to face an explosion in bandwidth usage and that their performance and scalability requirements are growing daily.

"Cable operators are continuously looking for new and innovative business models to better serve their customers. Personalized services are a key option to add value to their customers," said Brian Ahearn, VP of worldwide sales for Procera.

Ahearn said that PacketLogic Intelligent Policy Enforcement Solutions provide operators with the granularity and accuracy that they require to run their business and deliver personalized solutions that are better aligned with their customers' expectations.

Back in December, TMCnet reported that Public Mobile, a provider of unlimited wireless services for customers in Ontario and Quebec, had deployed the PacketLogic solution to help cut costs and improve its customer offerings.

With licenses utilized by 19 million people, Public Mobile provides customers in Ontario and Quebec with unlimited wireless services, without any requirement for contracts or credit checks. To help keep its service offerings reasonably priced, the company needed a solution that would provide it with increased visibility into overall network traffic.

Procera's PacketLogic solution set helped the company deploy new 3GPP-standard charging models that offer customers customized services which include on-demand prepaid data roaming.
