MagnaQuest's SMS Solution for Cable Operators in Europe

By Vinti Vaid, TMCnet Contributor

European Cable operators with coaxial and Hybrid fibre-coaxial (HFC) networks offering Internet and analogue video are going digital along with plans to offer Voice-Over-Internet Protocol (VoIP).

This change would entail challenges for the operators in terms of activating and deactivating of multiservices, rating of multiple usage types, managing prepaid and postpaid billing models and generating a single bill for the subscriber. To address these challenges, MagnaQuest (News - Alert) Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (MagnaQuest), a provider of global convergent Customer Management and Billing Solutions, offers its flagship product MQSubscribe.

MQSubscribe allows subscribers to order a service by sending an SMS from a mobile phone or through an IVR system or by calling the customer care center. It also allows service providers to send messages/reminders such as collection follow up, promotional offers, credit limits, de-activation/activation etc., to subscribers.

The solution has powerful rating, service packaging, provisioning, tracking of cable modems, monthly billing, and customer care functionalities. MagnaQuest has deployed this solution for several operators globally and is confident of supporting the new business plans of operators in Europe.

According to the company’s website (www.magnaquest.net), MQSubscribe is a ‘future-proof’ system that enables quick introduction of new products and services bundling with appropriate pricing and promotional programs. Its modular nature allows service providers to opt for precise numbers of modules with right mix that takes care of their increasing subscriber base and also handles future revenue streams. The solution is pre-integrated with ERP systems, Payment Gateways, leading CAS, IVRS, Network elements, and Middleware.

According to Rajiv Debbad, vice president, sales and marketing, MagnaQuest, “By leveraging the value proposition of MQSubscribe, Cable TV and Broadband and Triple Play service providers have experienced remarkable benefits in terms of increased revenues, improved customer loyalty and enhanced operational efficiency. To ensure continuous and unmatched service, a strategic effort has been made to provide the product support available through local partners."
