OpenTV EclipsePlus Launched in Two Additional Comcast Spotlight Markets

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

OpenTV (News - Alert) Corp. has announced that its OpenTV EclipsePlus, an advertising campaign management solution, has been deployed in the Philadelphia and Seattle markets of Comcast (News - Alert) Spotlight. These markets were among the top designated market areas (DMAs) in the country and OpenTV claims to have found a foothold in them with this deployment.

Comcast Spotlight is the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable. OpenTV claims that its products can help companies like Comcast save time in their advertising processes thanks to their traffic and billing technology.

OpenTV EclipsePlus, first introduced back in May, provides improved performance and scalability to fully support the increasing demands of local television advertising sales organizations. With the solution, they are able to maximize inventory, reduce manual tasks and significantly enhance their operational efficiencies.

Advertising can be a complex process, especially with today's ability to fast forward through ads – making reaching and finding a target audience much more difficult.

“Managing increasingly complex ad buys requires robust solutions that streamline processes and make the job easier for our ad sales teams,” said Steve Feingold, Senior Vice President, Operations and Strategic Planning, at Comcast Spotlight. “We’ve found those capabilities in EclipsePlus and we look forward to rolling out the platform in additional markets.”

OpenTV believes that the deployment of their product in these DMAs is very advantageous for them as Comcast Spotlight serves more than 90 of the 210 designated market areas (DMAs) in the U.S. and has a huge subscriber representation.
