The Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA), created by a collaboration of cities in Utah, and operating open fiber network that links multiple cities, announced that Prime Time Communications, L.L.C. will now offer more than 350 channels of digital television, as well as digital voice and ultra-high speed broadband Internet access to residential customers over UTOPIA’s fiber optic Open Service Provider Model network.
Established in 2005, Prime Time Communications is a provider of integrated, IP-based services – including Digital Internet, Digital Television and Digital Telephone packages over a fiber optic network.
“We are thrilled to welcome a new service provider offering the triple play of television, Internet and voice services on the UTOPIA network,” said Todd Marriott, executive director of UTOPIA.
“In order for UTOPIA to fulfill our brand promise of providing choice to our member cities, we must offer a wide range of high-quality service providers, and adding Prime Time to our lineup is a huge step in that direction,” added Marriott.
Prime Times’ Digital Television service, according to the company, gives more selection and convenience of entertainment ranging from movies and sports to arts and education. In addition to Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand access, the company is also offering high definition television (HDTV) that encompasses local as well as the cable channels.
“Prime Time is excited to begin serving customers on the UTOPIA network,” said Mark Wentzlaff, president and chief executive officer at Prime Time.
“Our digital voice, video and Internet services were designed to take advantage of the capabilities of 100 percent fiber networks like UTOPIA’s,” added Wentzlaff.
