By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Actiontec Electronics – a company that develops broadband connectivity and broadband-powered solutions that simplify and enrich the digital life, delivering a unified experience – has unveiled the Q1000 Wireless N VDSL Modem Router which is purported to be the one of the most powerful DSL routers ever built.

The VDSL2 modem is the latest addition to Actiontec’s line of triple play VDSL2/ADSL2+ Universal DSL Wireless Gateways and features dual-core 32 bit processor, a Wireless N radio, Gigabit Ethernet switch and 32 MB Flash and 64 MB SDRAM which enable the modem to seamlessly control a wide range of demanding multimedia applications, including HDTV, Voice over WiFi (News - Alert), media sharing, and online gaming.

The Wireless N VDSL2 Modem Router also features: Gigabit Ethernet 4 Port Router; Wireless N Access Point (News - Alert); Auto fallback to ADSL2 and ADSL2+; Robust Firewall and Advanced security including stateful packet inspections, denial of service protection, intrusion detection and WPA and WEP wireless encryption; QoS (Quality of Service); and TR-069 Remote Management support.

Actiontec said that there is a continuous rise in demand for richer online experience from consumers and to cater to those demands carriers are looking for ways to deliver faster speeds and more entertainment and communication options. The Q1000 is capable of offering a new standard in home router performance and ensures that bandwidth-hungry, multi-tasking consumers have all the processing power they need today and tomorrow.

Q1000 is also compatible with major operating systems with an available Ethernet port or 802.11n, 802.11g or 802.11b wireless adapter for wireless connections and has the TCP/IP network protocol installed. The router's MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) smart antenna technology improves home coverage and minimizes those despised dead spots that plague other WiFi products.

The router can support up to 1,000 Mbps transfer speeds enabling users to stream HD video content, simultaneously download or upload large data files and more and they need not have to worry about network slowdowns, hiccups or a loss in voice, video or data quality.

ActionTec's had recently unveiled its Internet Phone Wizard and also Next Gen MegaPlug AV Ethernet Adapter.
