Magnalink to Deliver Motorola Broadband Services in Czech Republic

Motorola (News - Alert) announced that Magnalink will deliver ultra-broadband services to the city ofHradec Kralove in Czech Republic by using Motorola Home & Networks Mobility’s gigabit passive optical network and IPTV (News - Alert) set top solutions.
 
Motorola says that the new GPON FTTH network will help Magnalink rollout advanced media services and also support fast internet access and IPTV services including HQ HD television programming.
 
The Motorola solutions that Magnalink has chosen include Motorola’s AXS1800 optical line terminal and Motorola’s VIP1900 series IPTV set tops supporting HDTV and DVR.
 
Motorola has claimed that its GPON solutions allow service providers like Magnalink to cost-effectively deliver video, data and voice services at ultra-broadband speeds greater than 50 Mbps. The AXS1800 OLT extends fiber to the edge of the network to enable the delivery of Ultra-Broadband services in new residential builds and to commercial subscribers. By making use of already available network equipment it can provide a seamless path to next generation service delivery. The AXS1800 helps operators stay ahead of consumer demand for high quality personalized communications and entertainment experiences.
 
The company’s VIP1900 series IPTV IP set-top supports high definition television and reaches its full functionality using the KreaTV application platform. The set-tops simplify the delivery of new personalized entertainment and communications services.
 
Jan Jirka, director of Magnalink has stated that they have chosen Motorola’s GPON and IPTV technology as the most suitable technology to provide a complete portfolio of high speed data services for business and residential subscribers. In addition, to these new services, Magnalink will also use the GPON technology to help the city of Hradec Kralove to better control and optimize its commodities services such as electricity, gas and water or control traffic.
 
Joe Cozzolino, senior vice president and general manager at Access Networks Solutions of Motorola Home and Networks Mobility, said that by making use their GPON solutions Magnalink can enter into newer markets and offer differentiated services and satisfy consumers who demand faster internet connections to access HD content and for social media networking.
 
Motorola and Etihad Atheeb Telecom (News - Alert) Company had launched a new nationwide WiMAX (News - Alert) 802.16e network in Saudi Arabia and Motorola unveiled Motorola AirDefense Wireless Vulnerability Assessment solution.
