OpenTV Debuts System Integrator Partner Program

OpenTV Corp., a provider of advanced digital television solutions, has reportedly launched a new System Integrator Partner Program for the Integration and deployment of OpenTV’s (News - Alert) advanced digital television solutions.
 
The SIPP program is specially designed to provide trusted partners utilizing OpenTV’s technology with the necessary tools and knowledge to deliver state-of-the-art services to OpenTV’s worldwide customer base, including set-top box porting, network integration, interactive application development and other systems integration services.
 
“As our business continues to grow, it is important for us to leverage our partnerships with the industry’s leading system integrators to meet and surpass our customers’ needs and expectations,” said Tracy Geist, senior vice president, business development, in a statement. “Through this new program, we’re combining our middleware expertise with the finest skills in porting and system integration to deliver robust solutions with the best viewing experiences to our customers and viewers worldwide in the fastest time possible.”
 
Initial members of the OpenTV’s System Integrator Partner Program include Corpus Media Labs, Orange Business Services (News - Alert), S3 and Triple Play Integration. This initiative is also said to complement the company’s existing relationship with partners such as Cisco, Irdeto (News - Alert) and Nagravision.
 
“As part of OpenTV’s System Integrator Partner Program, we are well positioned to leverage further our OpenTV expertise and offer more exciting solutions to customers worldwide,” said Baskar Kesavalu, an OpenTV veteran and vice president, Delivery, Corpus Media Labs, in a statement.
 
The SIPP is said to offer its partners a thorough and reciprocated approach to an operator’s integration needs allowing them to work independently or jointly with OpenTV to create solutions around the OpenTV platform. Some of the key benefits for both partners and operators includes; The licensing of OpenTV’s middleware technology to trusted partners at no cost for integration purposes; early visibility as to roadmap and upcoming developments at OpenTV; the ability to fully complete an integration without relying on outside parties; and freedom for partners to develop their own solutions.
