By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor

Integrated Broadband Services, or “IBBS (News - Alert),” a provider of broadband software and service solutions to operators throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America, announced the launch of a Broadband Network Services platform that utilizes cloud computing technology.

Deployed as a software-as-a-service, or “SaaS (News - Alert),” model, this newly launched powerful, highly functional platform is said to improve broadband network performance and availability, as well as lowers event recovery time.

The service offering will help operators worldwide to overcome prevalent, costly network management challenges.

“With competition for subscribers at an all-time high, broadband operators worldwide face the daunting challenge of how to optimize their respective networks and avoid any downtime to ensure the highest possible customer experience,” Doug Johnson, vice president of Product Management, IBBS, said.

Additionally, Johnson said that a benefit of working with more than 230 cable operators is that the company’s engineers gain firsthand knowledge of the most pressing issues affecting broadband providers.

“IBBS Network Services is an immediate, long-term remedy to the issues related to network optimization and the related subscriber churn,” Johnson said. “Deployed as a SaaS model, IBBS Network Services delivers the most cost-effective, comprehensive platform on the market.”

Key features of the newly announced IBBS Network Services include; Real-Time Dashboards, an interface to view real-time data that enables users to react to changing network events, protect service level agreements, or “SLAs,” and uptime, and maintain network availability; Alarms and In-Depth Reporting which is said to shorten the Mean-Time-to-Repair, or “MTTR,” through quicker problem identification, diagnosis and recovery with the help of integrated advanced event correlation, performance management reporting and service and application monitoring.

IBBS Network Services will also include instantaneous alarm capability for notification via email, pager, or Short Message Service, or “SMS.” Here, the reporting component includes event forensics and supports multiple metric types, formats or feeds, and historic data is also available to trend over time and better plan for future growth and capability.

The company also clarified that its Network Services platform is capable of handling millions of events per day via Web 2.0 architecture that adapts and integrates into any technology environment through an open API.

Other than this current announcement, IBBS has also reportedly launched the version 4.7 of its broadband explorer diagnostics and provisioning software, including a bandwidth management solution supporting net neutrality.

The SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is the industry's engineering show, operating for more than 25 years and providing an opportunity to discover and learn first-hand about the latest in cable technology, products and services.
