JDSU Introduces New Optical Instruments and Kits

JDSU, a company focused in providing communications test and measurement solutions and optical products, has reportedly unveiled a new family of cost-effective optical test instruments and kits, the JDSU (News - Alert) Optical SmartPocket handhelds, to support enterprise and broadband service providers.  
 
The family of optical instruments and kits includes JDSU Optical SmartPocket Power Meters and Light Sources.
 
According to the company, the new six new meters in the SmartPocket family offers an easy to use interface, accurate performance that make them the most suitable optical test tools for any field technician dealing with optical fiber.

Apart from these features, the new meters provides fast and accurate measurements of optical power level on single mode and multimode optical networks and are designed for use in measuring optical power level in facilities, telecommunications networks, or cable television fiber optic networks, they can also be combined with LED or laser light sources for insertion loss measurement.

JDSU Optical SmartPocket Light Sources, part of the new release is helpful in measure insertion loss and test the continuity in multimode data communications and local area networks as well as single mode telecommunication and cable television-multimedia networks.

Enzo di Luigi (News - Alert), general manager in JDSU's Communications Test and Measurement business segment said, 'JDSU has a strong heritage of supporting our customers with multifunctional optical handhelds. The new SmartPocket line will phase out the oldest PocketClass handhelds which have sold more than 50,000 units worldwide over the last 10 years.'

di Luigi also said that the new SmartPocket family brings better accuracy, new innovative features and superior performance at a lower price point.
