Legrand | Ortronics Unveils New Self-Terminating Category 6A FTP Jack

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Legrand | Ortronics, a company focused in developing network infrastructure solutions, has reportedly introduced new self-terminating Category 6A FTP jack for workstation applications.

The new 6A FTP jack comes in a rugged cast-encased shielded keystone jack with rear-loading and features an innovative tool-less termination process that dramatically reduces installation times.

According to the company, the tool-less jack termination enables fast, easy, and reliable installation of FTP/shielded cable.

In addition, the installer-friendly wire lacing feature in the model includes a wiring diagram that helps in maintaining pair geometry, and limits untwisting of pairs. And closing the jack housing fully seats the lacing cap onto the jack insulation displacement contacts allows termination of all four cable pairs at the same time.

These new shielded keystone jacks mount into all TechChoice faceplates, frames, and bezels for broad support of FTP at the workstation. Also its rugged die cast metal construction creates an integral shield which provides 360 degree coverage, while a supplied cable clamp provides a fast, secure and reliable shield/ground wire connection, said the company.

Legrand solutions are used in commercial, industrial and residential markets. Company currently holds over 5,000 active patents, with nearly 170,000 catalogue items divided into 95 product families.

Headquartered in New London, Conn., Legrand | Ortronics (News - Alert) offers a complete range of Category 5e, 6 and 10 Gig copper, fiber optic, and residential/MDU connectivity solutions, as well as Layer Zero physical support solutions including Cablofil wire mesh cable tray and Wiremold pathways.
