Aurora Networks Appoints New Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Aurora Networks, Inc. has informed that Pirjo Tuomi has joined the company as vice president of worldwide sales. Tuomi boasts 20 years of experience with global telecom and cable equipment companies including Vello Systems, BigBand Networks (News - Alert) and Nortel.

Aurora Networks, Inc. is an optical transport solution provider that offers a cost-effective, optimized platform for next-generation cable services. The company has allowed operators across the globe to evolve their networks for the delivery of advanced services available today and tomorrow.

Tuomi has also worked as senior vice president, worldwide sales and field operations, for Vello (News - Alert) Systems, a provider of optical transport and DWDM technologies. Before that she was senior vice president, worldwide sales, at BigBand Networks, a provider of triple-play solutions to cable and telecom operators.

Before BigBand acquired ADC’s (News - Alert) cable-focused product line, Tuomi was vice president, product marketing management, at ADC. Tuomi started at BAS as vice president of worldwide sales. She also has considerable managerial experience with Nortel (News - Alert), ICL Data/Nokia Data and Finnish Telecom, now Telia Sonera.
