Todd Brecher Joins Cablevision as SVP and Associate General Counsel, Business Affairs

Cablevision Systems (News - Alert) Corp., one of the nation’s leading media and entertainment companies, has appointed Todd Brecher as the senior vice president and associate general counsel, business affairs.

Brecher, in his new position, will serve as Cablevision’s lead attorney on corporate transactions and other corporate development initiatives, including acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments.

He will report to David Ellen, Cablevision executive vice president and general counsel.

“Todd is a highly talented attorney with a strong record of accomplishment and he knows our industry well,” Ellen, said. “We very much look forward to his significant contributions.”

Earlier, Brecher worked at Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable Inc., for eight years as vice president and assistant chief counsel, corporate.

He was Time Warner Cable’s primary lawyer for all significant mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate transactions, including the acquisition with Comcast (News - Alert) Corporation of Adelphia Communications’ cable systems; Time Warner Cable’s spin-off from Time Warner Inc.; and the company’s investments in Clearwire (News - Alert) Communications and Canoe Ventures.

Various associate positions at various law firms including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom have also been held by Mr. Brecher. He holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. from Yale University.

In related news, RealD and Cablevision Systems Corp. have announced that Cablevision has licensed the stereoscopic RealD Format for the delivery of high definition 3D content to the home.
