SIS 2.0 Helps Users to Tap Advanced and Interactive Advertising

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Sigma Systems has announced it further enhanced its Subscriber Information Service "SIS" with the launch of Version 2.0.

This latest product release offers a variety of new features and EBIF support to equip cable TV and IPTV (News - Alert) providers the ability to deliver addressable advertising to highly-qualified subscriber audiences.

Sigma Systems' Subscriber Information Service plays a very important role in the execution and monetization of advanced advertising. This service collects subscriber-related data and provides the SCTE 130 SIS interface required to access the data for audience qualification and segmentation.

The company is delivering many benefits with its new SIS 2.0 including support for Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format interactive TV environments.

In addition, this version provides stronger privacy policies for more secure management of subscriber information.

Additionally, this solution enables improved performance to ensure subsecond response times for run-time advertising requirements. According to a release, SIS 2.0 includes the latest support for SCTE 130 compliance.

Thanks to SIS 2.0, TV operators can also easily aggregate disparate sources of subscriber data from the network and combine that data with demographic/household and geographic/location information.

This combination can create a single view of the subscriber. There are other benefits as well: SIS 2.0 can rapidly generate audience profile 'qualifiers' in subseconds that enable advertisers to target their addressable linear, dynamic VOD and interactive advertising in real time.

By providing strengthened subscriber privacy features, the release allows subscribers to either opt-in or opt-out of receiving any targeted advertisements or other campaigns.

'Increased consumer adoption of IP-based video, including VOD, converged communications and TV Everywhere, has opened the door for operators to deliver higher levels of personalization and interaction to audiences,' said Brian Cappellani, CTO and VP of Engineering for Sigma Systems (News - Alert). 'With SIS 2.0, operators can leverage customer data and deliver addressable ad campaigns across multiple devices and services to their subscribers.'
