Concurrent Inks Multi-Year Contract with Mediacom Communications

Concurrent, a provider of video and media data and advertising solutions, has announced that it has signed a multi-year contract with Mediacom Communications.

Mediacom is a cable company serving over 1,400 communities throughout the U.S. Concurrent's Media Data and Advertising Solutions (MDAS) are expected to support the company's marketing, advertising, sales, engineering, and operations strategies.

Concurrent's Media Data and Advertising Solutions provide a complete solution for collecting and correlating data from online, television, DVR, interactive and on-demand video consumption.

With this advanced data management capability, service providers and content providers marketing, programming, advertising, and operations organizations can identify new opportunities for revenue growth and maximize operational efficiencies, according to Concurrent officials.

The terms of the agreement calls on Concurrent to upgrade and manage Mediacom's VOD data infrastructure with a fully-hosted platform and a comprehensive portfolio of data logistics and managed services.

Stating that Concurrent has played a valuable role in the company's success during the past six years, John Woods, vice president for advanced consumer services at Mediacom, said that through their media data collection and management tools, "we've been able to deliver a high quality experience to our customers and provide significant value to our content providers."

The new agreement offers Mediacom a turnkey media data service based on Concurrent's latest VOD Operational Reporting Solutions. Additionally, Concurrent is expected to support data collection, validation, warehousing, and distribution for Mediacom's various data stakeholders.

Company officials said that the solution serves as the foundation for an end-to-end cross services data solution, providing Mediacom the capability to collect and aggregate data from VOD, Linear, and Interactivity across their 1.3 million subscriber footprint. 

Paul Haddad, senior vice president and general manager for media data and advertising solutions at Concurrent, said that Mediacom will be able to leverage real-time, census-level video consumption data and deliver accurate, time sensitive reporting.

"We are a long-time partner of Mediacom and are committed to providing the latest generation of media data solutions for Mediacom to succeed in an increasingly competitive market," Haddad added.
