Genesis-Networks, ATEME Provide Compression Technology during FIFA and Wimbledon

Genesis-Networks Inc., specializing in permanent, occasional-use and special events transmission services announced that it has selected ATEME’s new compression technology for servicing its blue chip customers during the FIFA World Cup and the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
According to company sources more than 30 units of the ATEME CM4101 MPEG-2 / MPEG-4 encoders and DR8400 decoders were deployed to cover both events simultaneously.

“The equipment was deployed with very short notice, with excellent post sale-support and worked perfectly in a variety of customer configurations,” Dujardin added.
Claude Stoffel, Director Sales and Business development at ATEME, said that catering to the needs of Genesis Networks was an achievement in part for his company. He pointed out that Genesis Networks which specializes in transmission services will be using ATEME’s latest generation of encoding and decoding equipment.
“This validates that our latest compression solutions are a perfect fit for transmitting the most prestigious sporting events to the most important marquee customers,” Stoffel noted.
According to official sources Genesis Networks platform is a next-generation, IP-based fiber and satellite video network featuring switching and compression technologies. The company’s network operations center in New York City maintains the health and standards of the global network while the Genesis Networks proprietary software system, IRIS, gives clients remote, real-time network monitoring, scheduling, and control capabilities.
