Momentum Gets 16 Customers for New OSS Network Monitoring

Today, the process industry is faced with ever-increasing requirements for better quality, higher production profits, safer operation, and stringent environment regulation. New technologies are required to reduce the operator's cognitive load and achieve more consistent operations. In light of this, operation support systems, which help operators in obtaining effective and timely decisions, have attracted much attention.

Now, Momentum, a provider of private label digital voice service to cable operators and municipalities throughout the U.S., announced that it has signed 16 customers for its newly released operations support system “OSS” solution.

These companies have chosen Momentum as the provider of a Web-based software solution designed to provision, manage and monitor all services related to cable modem deployments. Several companies have also selected Momentum’s managed support services that include a 24/7 Help Desk and complete network operations center “NOC (News - Alert)” support.

Paul Butcher, president and owner of Big Sandy Broadband said that the company has been searching over the past few years for an OSS provider with a tailored solution that offers excellent Web analytics and management capabilities for a cost that just made sense. He added that the company is very impressed with Momentum's full range of in-house services - particularly the mapping and detailed reporting capabilities fully integrated with digital voice services.

In addition, Jim Hunter, president and general manager of Trinity Communications said that Momentum's ability to consolidate monitoring, provisioning, and voice into one single platform will really help the company to improve operational efficiency.
