By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

GAO Tek Inc., an international provider of embedded development tools, telecommunication testers, electronic measurement instruments, video surveillance and other electronic products, announced the launch of a low-power consuming CIF professional digital video recorder “DVR” card, GAO18004TD.

The company’s new professional DVR capture card utilizes a high performance audio/video compression chip to produce 8 channels of CIF and 2 channels of D1 compressed signals. Capable of redundant recording, full D1 recording and hard disk group management, the card features multi-playback, mobile view, disk capture and CMS functions.

Offering a digital zoom function during preview or playback, the new GAO18004TD DVR card utilizes digital watermark technology to ensure that a video file is not falsified.

Apart from full D1 recording, the new DVR card is capable of producing pure digital picture of the highest quality for playback, recording and video archiving when embedded into existing system.

The new GAO18004TD DVR card is not only easy to operate with a user-friendly menu, but also maintains a low bandwidth video compression stream while offering better image quality upon restoration than other compression schemes by using H.264 Main Profile.

Compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista operating systems, the new DVR card provides 4 channels video input and 4 channels audio input. With the help of this DVR card, different channels can be set to different recording times.

In addition, the 18004TD also features disk-saver function and normal and event video encoding parameters.

Apart from 18004TD, the GAO Tek also offers another version of a DVR card GAO18004T, which also utilizes a high performance audio/video compression chip to produce 8 channels of CIF and 2 channels of D1 compressed signals.

The GAO18004T also utilizes H.264 Main Profile and maintains a low bandwidth video compression stream while offering better image quality upon restoration than other compression schemes. This card does not have TV Out function whereas GAO18004TD has 1 channel TV Out function.

The Dual Stream GAO18004TD card also has Hardware Watchdog function. Consuming less than 22W power, the card weighs approximately 85g and has dimension of 132mm×86.2mm. Available with PCI (News - Alert) interface, the new card also has motion detection feature.

Recently, GAO Tek launched its RB-10M Ethernet Bridge, RB-10M. Designed for broadband access of Ethernet and data point-to-point transmission from E1 channels to RJ-45 interfaces, the new Ethernet Bridge extends the Ethernet transmission distance and the scope of application by using the resources of existing E1 circuits in telecommunication networks while minimizing investment.
