TransGaming to Launch GameTree TV in April 2011 with European MSO

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

TransGaming, a leader in the deployment of video games across multiple platforms, announced it will commercially release GameTree TV in April 2011 with a top-tier Managed Service Operator (MSO) in Europe.

GameTree TV, the premiere on-demand Smart TV gaming platform, offers better user experience on their set-top boxes and connected consumer electronic devices.

Consumers will have extensive catalog of video games that can be accessed on-demand through a flexible and seamless transaction system, featuring a variety of pricing models billed directly through their cable provider.

GameTree TV follows a revenue share-based business model between the MSO, TransGaming, and the content developers. All stakeholders are expected to generate revenues soon after the launch.

“In recent months we have been meticulously integrating, testing, and refining GameTree TV to ensure we deliver the highest quality product to consumers on day one of our commercial launch, and I am incredibly proud of the immersive experience we have created,” said Vikas Gupta, CEO and president of TransGaming.

“A new era of on-demand interactivity in the connected living room is approaching, and it is an extraordinary feeling for TransGaming to be at the forefront, helping to shape the industry for years to come,” Gupta added.

TransGaming works with developers and publishers to enable and distribute their games for the Mac and Linux/CE platforms.

In November 2010, TransGaming announced that its in-house game development studio, creators of In The Mix Featuring Armin van Buuren for the Nintendo Wii, is in the final stages of development on its next game entitled Garage.
