Pace, a technology developer for the global payTV industry, working across satellite, cable, IPTV (News - Alert) and terrestrial platforms, has signed a deal with NET Servicos, the largest multi-service cable company in Latin America, to expand its two-year partnership to deliver digital TV services.

As part of the pact, Pace will develop new platforms to enable NET (News - Alert) to deploy advanced digital services to its customers.

"As a pioneer in the fast-developing Latin American market, Pace has been able to work with operators such as NET to define the development of payTV in the region,” said Mathias Hautefort, president Pace Europe, in a statement. “This expanded partnership with NET is a major success for Pace.”

“We are delighted at their decision to work with us to develop and deploy digital services across Brazil via devices that put end users' need for simplicity and user-friendliness at their core," Hautefort added.

According to Jose Felix, president of NET Servicos, there has been a burgeoning demand for HD television in Brazil and NET Servicos needed create a solution that would match this and support future customer requirements to scale-up as new services come to market. The company selected Pace because Pace has a “proven track record of delivering industry leading technology solutions and expertise in our market – both essential to positioning ourselves at the forefront of innovation,"according to Felix.

Back in January, Pace Networks, a specialized division of Pace, announced that Canal Digital Sweden, part of the leading Nordic television distributor network and ISP, Canal Digital, will deploy the Pace MDC1000 head end platform to support its nationwide upgrade of SMATV head ends.

Implementing the Pace MDC1000 compact head end platform will enable Canal Digital Sweden to expand its existing broadcast infrastructure to deliver Digital TV, including HDTV, with minimum disruption to customers.

The Pace MDC1000 is an easy to install and adaptable solution, enabling Canal Digital to rapidly deploy digital services to smaller SMATV and cableTV networks, including previously hard to access areas such as suburbs and rural communities.
