By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

The Cable Center Customer Care Committee or C5 will have Amdocs (News - Alert) as the Exclusive Presenting Sponsor according to a joint announcement by Amdocs and The Cable Center. Amdocs is the top provider of customer experience systems. The Cable Center is the nonprofit educational arm of the cable industry. The Cable Center's Customer Care Central is a group of programs and initiatives designed to help advance the customer experience of which C5 is a part of.

Twenty-five invited members and other associate members comprise the C5. The invited members are from the top 14 cable TV multiple system operators or MSOs in the United States and Europe. Some of the industry's top associations are represented by the associate members. Amdocs will actively participate in the group's meetings and forums through this sponsorship. Best practices and innovative solutions will be discussed by the industry’s most senior customer experience management executives at these meetings and forums.

According to Brian Shepherd, Amdocs group president and head of Broadband Cable and Satellite, simplifying and personalizing the experience offered to end customers is one of the main drivers of customer satisfaction and retention for every cable provider.

In a release, Shepherd said, "Amdocs' almost three decades of experience serving cable operators around the world and our heavy R&D investment in leading software solutions and personalized business processes will give C5 members a unique and valuable perspective on providing an exceptional customer experience in the rapidly changing connected world.  This partnership also demonstrates Amdocs' ongoing commitment to the cable industry and to C5's vital mission."

According to Jana Henthorn, Senior Vice President of Academic and Industry Outreach for The Cable Center, the organization’s ability to understand the needs of and satisfy the organization’s end-use customers will be the ultimate success for the cable industry.

In a release, Henthorn said, "Enhancing the customer experience is one of our industry's top priorities. Amdocs' depth and breadth of cable industry experience already deployed at customers of all sizes around the world brings valuable insights that we welcome to our C5 group."
