Net Insight, SHM Broadcast Team to Help Deliver Cable TV Network in Germany

Net Insight (News - Alert) has said that it has been selected in partnership with SHM Broadcast to deliver a nationwide Cable TV network in Germany.

Developed for a prominent Cable TV company, the network includes interconnection of the main Cable TV head-ends across the country, according to company officials.

Thanks to its “well-proven solution” status, multicast capabilities and low operating cost, Net Insight Nimbra platform was selected by the German based Cable TV company.

Company officials said that the primary sites will be equipped with Nimbra 680 including multi video access cards and optical 10G trunks.

“This order is of strategic importance to Net Insight since the Net Insight Nimbra platform will be used in a nationwide Cable TV network, a future growth segment for Net Insight,” said Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO at Net Insight.

This order was won in partnership with the Net Insight premium partner SHM Broadcast, an exclusive sales- and service partners of high-class broadcast-products for a number of international manufacturers.

Company officials said that the value of agreement exceeds 10 MSEK, and the network is expected to be operational by the end of 2011.

Net Insight delivers a scalable transport solution for Broadcast and IP Media, Digital Terrestrial TV, Mobile TV and IPTV (News - Alert)/CATV networks. Thecompany’sNet Insights Nimbra platform is an industry solution for video, voice and data.

Also last month, a North American television company selected Net Insight's Nimbra platform to secure its media contribution services. The Net Insight Nimbra platform is being used for media contribution to a main satellite uplink facility as well as a secondary uplink facility for disaster recovery. The network is based on Nimbra 680 and Nimbra 380.
