Cable Operators and MSOs, Metaswitch is 'Switching On'

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

Metaswitch is all set to light up the Cable Show to be held in Boston between May 21-23 by showcasing a whole new generation of communication services that help harness the power of multimedia devices and migration to all-IP architectures.

Championing the theme "The Switch is On -- Are You Keeping Up?", Metaswitch will discuss issues that affect cable operators and demonstrate the scope of its solutions to MSOs.

Accession Immersive Multimedia Telephony, which is expected to take center seat, is an application suite that enables MSOs to deliver fluid call control between smartphones, fixed lines and tablets.

This way, subscribers can move calls in progress from a smartphone on a 3G network, transfer it to another device when on the go and to VoIP over broadband, Wi-Fi or a fixed landline at a office while operators can build a valuable subscriber base that is loyal to its brand and premium real-time service offerings.

Metaswitch will also be highlighting its Perimeta SBC, a unique approach to session border control that will allow service providers to cost-effectively address the heavy, changing mix of network traffic. Big operators can actually use the flexible and scalable cloud environments to scale SBC functions without the need of expensive hardware.

In addition, Metaswitch will discuss how leading MSOs are "building on Metaswitch" to provide Hosted Business Services and will also talk about its popular MarketVisions go-to-market program that helps MSOs be more proactive in their approach.

Earlier this month, Metaswitch Networks announced its Accession Immersive Multimedia Telephone solution won the IMS Industry Award for Best Converged Messaging System at the IMS World Forum in Madrid, Spain.
