By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

Cablevision Systems (News - Alert) Corp. launched an online portal that will help its Optimum (News - Alert) Business customers easily manage all communications services, in addition to introducing a number of new features to its Optimum Voice plan.

Cablevision Systems Corporation is one of the nation's leading media and telecommunications companies, and Optimum Business is one of the company’s most popular and advanced communications services plans.

Designed for small and medium or businesses from one to 100 employees, the Optimum Business offering provides high-speed Internet and voice communications services at an affordable price. Optimum Business offers the option for businesses to select up to 24 lines of Optimum Voice with low flat-rate pricing, and unlimited calling within the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada with no incremental fees or per minute charges, more than 20 business calling features at no additional charge, and three powerful and distinct service options to support business needs.

The new portal – Account Center – will make it easier for Optimum Business customers to manage their Internet, voice and video services through an intuitive user interface that includes a product dashboard and internal management tools, a press release revealed.

Furthermore, the Account Center offers a view of all products and services, as well as video tutorials and helpful product descriptions.

With delegated management feature, the portal allows small business owners to assign account management roles for specific services to specific employees. For instance, one or more management roles can be assigned to oversee phone, network and hosting services.

“The Account Center simplifies the Optimum Business customer experience and enables management of all services in one place for a better and more streamlined experience. Whether a customer uses basic email, voice products or more complex services such Optimum Voice SIP Trunking, it is now easier to explore and control account and product features,” Cablevision’s vice president of business and voice product management Joseph Varello explained in a statement.

The new Optimum Voice features, which were announced alongside Account Center, include:

  • Outbound Caller Name Management
  • Selective Call Forwarding
  • Time of Day Forwarding
  • Call Forward On Busy/No  and Uniform Call Distribution Rollover

These new features are being offered with an aim to address trends across mobility, marketing and branding, more efficient call processing, and to provide small businesses with the toolset they need to advance, the company said.
