Comcast's Business VoiceEdge Makes a Big Difference to Nu-Way Industries

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

'Old may be Gold' but an aging legacy phone system is perhaps the worst thing that you can be saddled with for expensive maintenance, unreliability and poor call quality and can very quickly damage the company's reputation. Nu-Way Industries, realizing that its PBX system was heading down that road, turned to Comcast (News - Alert) for an alternative.

Since Nu-Way Industries' voice service was a fundamental part of its daily operations, the company's decision to opt for Comcast's Business VoiceEdge, a cost-effective solution that provides reliable, HD- quality voice service with advanced unified communication features, made a lot of sense.

"VoiceEdge can help businesses with one or multiple sites and mobile employees improve their productivity," said John Crowley, senior vice president, Greater Chicago Region, Comcast.

Delivered from the cloud, Comcast's Business VoiceEdge helps transfer calls seamlessly between users' mobile and desktop phones and because it is fully managed and investment in expensive equipment is eliminated.

By running the new solution over Comcast's Ethernet service, Nu-Way will be able to ensure fast and efficient data transmission securely, and also scale bandwidth to meet customer demands. For businesses that do not have multiple Ethernet ports, voice and data services can be transferred over a single Ethernet connection on the local area networks.

It also has advanced features like the ability to click-to-dial from a toolbar in Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer or Mozilla (News - Alert) Firefox and a simultaneous ring feature that ensures they never miss a customer's call regardless of where they are.

"With its vast network reach and cloud-based voice service, VoiceEdge also helps employees stay connected anytime and anywhere and serve their customers more quickly and easily," added Crowley.

Nu-Way, specializing in the design and fabrication of precision metal products, is always looking at new technologies to ensure it can deliver outstanding products and service to customers. Officials noted that since switching to Comcast Business VoiceEdge, customers noticed and commented on the improved call clarity and reliability.
