UXP Systems' MINT Platform Gives Cable Bahamas Multiscreen Video Capabilities

By Amanda Ciccatelli, TMCnet Web Editor

Multiscreen video, voice, and messaging enables cable operators and telcos to reach more subscribers, devices and locations with low cost TV and video services. Blending content delivery with cross-screen services and social connections helps service providers create a personal, seamless and social experience across every Internet-connected device.

UXP Systems, a provider of a platform with multiscreen offerings for cable and telecom operators, has revealed that Cable Bahamas, a provider of cable television services, international data communications, Web hosting, business continuity and high-speed broadband services, has selected UXP’s Multiscreen Interaction (MINT) platform to support its next-generation personalized multiscreen video, voice and messaging services in an upcoming market trial.

The company’s patent-pending offerings allows operators to create new relationships with subscribers, as well as deliver converged services to consumers across screens and devices. The offering has enabled multiple industry innovations including a multiscreen bundle, multiscreen home phone services, and household personalization and OTT business model enablement with user lifecycle management and multiservice orchestration.

"We continue to serve our customers with the most advanced technology and offerings in the Bahamas, and that is a key pillar of our market leadership," said David Burrows, head of marketing and product development for Cable Bahamas. "UXP Systems' MINT Platform gives us a unified foundation to extend our entertainment and communications offerings across all screens, in a seamless, authenticated and personalized way."

The company has selected UXP Systems' MINT platform in preparation to power new services that are scheduled for launch in the near future.

“This is another important validation for us that new business models require aggregation, authentication and orchestration capabilities that can bring together content, metadata, social media and blended services around individual users. UXP Systems’ MINT Platform provides operators with these capabilities, ensuring the success of new business and service models like Over-the-Top Video and TV Everywhere,” added Gemini Waghmare, CEO of UXP Systems.

Ending a busy quarter for UXP Systems, its MINT Platform was selected as winner of the CIO IT Innovation award at the 2012 Cable Show in May. The company will also exhibit its MINT Platform live at the CableLabs (News - Alert) Summer Conference 2012 in Keystone, CO. from August 5-7.
