Entropic Communications Releases New c.LINK Broadband Access Products

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Entropic (News - Alert) Communications, a provider of semiconductor solutions, released the new c.LINK Broadband Access products, the EN3511 Network Controller (NC) and the EN3530 Client Premise Equipment (CPE).

Entropic’s explained that the c.LINK Broadband Access technology solutions are based on its widely deployed MoCA (Multimedia over Coax) 1.1 silicon. c.LINK with its high RF implementation is a solid solution for cable operators who plan to upgrade their networks for bi-directional communication as it can coexist with other services on the same coaxial cable.

The EN35xx system is stated to be the company’s latest c.LINK solution for Ethernet over Coax (EoC) implementations and can be installed to realize a broadband access network for into-the-home distribution of multiple streams of high-definition and standard definition audio/video, voice and broadband data.

The EN35xx system is comprised of the EN3511 integrated coaxial network controller IC and RF transceiver and the EN3530 Customer Premise Equipment.

Notable benefits of the EN35xx system include 175 mbps of mac layer throughput, enough to support multiple and simultaneous streams of HD content with data traffic; highly reliable, glitch-free distribution of multimedia and content to every unit; future proof scalability; service operator class reliability; low bill of materials cost; and more.

Entropic asserted that the new Broadband Access solution is designed for the China EoC market, as regional Multiple System Operators (MSO) and Cable Network Operators require solutions that can satisfy China's NGB (Next Generation Broadcasting) bandwidth requirements.

“Entropic has made continual investments in its Broadband Access solutions to lower solution cost and increase performance, robustness and reliability to support China’s NGB initiative,” noted Al Servati, vice president of marketing for Connectivity Products Group at Entropic Communications. “Our scalable solution is mature, stable, and enables operators to future proof their network and deliver affordable broadband multi-services over the existing coaxial infrastructure.”
