DISH and Pac-12 Networks recently announced today that they have entered into an agreement making DISH the sole satellite provider of Pac-12 Networks. Under the new agreement, DISH will also become the exclusive category sponsor for Pac-12 sports programming which includes conference football and basketball games and live athletic programs. This will include logo rights with each of the schools and stadium signage.

DISH Network Corporation, a Fortune 200 company, provides over 14 million satellite TV customers, through its subsidiary DISH Network L.L.C. Subscribers not only enjoy the largest HD line-up with over 200 national and international HD channels, but they also get to experience award-winning high definition technology.

Pac-12 Enterprises was created in 2011 and is the new content and multiplatform media company for the Pac-12 Conference, a leader in collegiate athletics which includes 12 of the most prestigious universities in the world and a nation-leading 451 NCAA titles across 27 sports.

As per the new agreement, DISH fans will have access to hundreds of live championship sporting events that include football and men’s basketball and Olympic sporting events from Pac-12 Networks. Pac-12 Networks, which opened its football coverage on August 30, is televising 15 nonconference games and 20 Pac-12 football games this season. It will be available on Channel 445.

Dave Shull, the DISH senior vice-president of programming said that DISH was thrilled to offer their customers more than 800 sporting events available on Pac-12 Networks annually. He added that the partnership with the Pac-12 goes beyond the TV screen to the campuses in the form of an exclusive sponsorship to support the programs and the students.

Gary Stevenson, president of Pac-12 Enterprises, said that DISH wanted to deliver Pac-12 Networks to its customers and which will greatly benefit their fans. He added that DISH's line-up and ability to offer Pac-12 fans nationwide access to an unprecedented number of live quality sporting events make this a huge day for DISH customers and Pac-12 fans. Stevenson concluded that DISH was a leader in TV Everywhere technology and provided customers the ability to watch live programming on the go, and hence was a great partner for Pac-12 Networks as they built out their digital and TV Everywhere capabilities that ensure fans can access their content when and wherever they choose.

Dish Network is offering Pac-12 Networks as a free preview for a limited time to Dish customers. Game broadcasts on Dish Network began last Saturday (8th September, 2012). Pac-12 Networks had previously reached agreements with major cable companies such as Bright House, Time Warner Cable and Comcast. It has, however, yet to form an agreement with DirecTV (News - Alert).
