Cycle30 Develops a Suite of Flexible Solutions to Address the Needs of Cable Operators

By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

Earlier this week, provider of hosted order-to-cash billing services, Cycle30, announced that it had developed a suite of flexible Commercial Business Billing software solutions. In order to successfully manage and execute both business and advanced services, the solutions are specifically designed to address the needs of cable operators.

From commercial accounts that had previously been too complex to handle, the solutions will allow operators to quickly take advantage of new revenue sources. In the management and execution of services to the business community, cable operators, particularly smaller operators, have increasingly been challenged.

Product catalogues for commercial accounts are much more complex, with the required setup, configuration, provisioning, selection of devices, taxation, duration and fees of the agreement for commercial billing equally more complex. Many of the traditional billing platforms currently used by smaller operators are not equipped to manage this complexity and needed flexibility.

In addition, commercial accounts are more educated in the services it receives and less forgiving with service/billing errors and therefore, it tends to have higher expectations from its service providers compared than residential customers.

Due to the back office issue, for some operators, Cycle30 estimates that up to 10 percent in revenue potential from commercial services are currently being left on the table. To enable operators a quick-to-market solution, the new, innovative Cycle30 solutions combines some of the most intuitive and flexible front-end Web interfaces with applications specifically designed for commercial services.

In addition, Cycle30’s cable operator heritage, which was spun out and is currently owned by cable operator GCI (News - Alert), brings a level of industry understanding and emphasis on customer service unsurpassed by any other billing provider. Cycle30 is a wholly owned subsidiary of a large communications provider in Alaska.

Cycle30 manages and bills for a myriad of communications and machine-to-machine data services,  including cable TV, pay-per-view, streaming video, local dial-tone, long distance, digital phone, broadband internet, WiSP, GSM wireless, CDMA wireless, lifeline and M2M services for consumer, commercial, government and wholesale customers.
