ESCORT and Dyle Mobile Bringing Broadcast Television to Android

By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer

Tablets and mobile devices have had one major flaw since they were first released onto the market. The inability to watch broadcast television without having to be connected to a Wi-Fi network has been something that has annoyed tablet users. Dyle mobile has been offering up mobile television services with the help of ESCORT and other partner companies. ESCORT recently announced that it has come up with applications that work with iOS and now ESCORT Inc. will be working with Dyle to bring a mobile television service to Android (News - Alert) based devices.

ESCORT has put out a number of different applications that work with some of the most high end automotive accessories. ESCORT’s Mobile TV is basically a miniature digital TV receiver that works alongside the iDTV USA application. This particular application is moving closer to becoming available in the Google (News - Alert) Play store. Dyle Mobile is currently being offered up without a subscription fee for 2013 and allows users to watch as many as 90 different stations in 35 different markets.

“Teaming up with iDTV USA and Dyle mobile TV has enabled ESCORT to deliver mobile digital TV for customers on the go,” John Larson, president & CEO of ESCORT, said in a recent statement. “Adding to our successful product release of the Apple (News - Alert) compatible ESCORT MobileTV, we are now including Android customers who will soon be able to view their favorite TV programs while traveling.”

ESCORT believes that it is tapping into a market that really hasn't been tapped and that means that the company and Dyle Mobile will finally be companies that are on the lips of tech customers. The companies will also be looking to expand the number of markets where Dyle is offered if this move can make the service all the more popular.
