KVH TracVision R1 Makes RV Owners Happy

By Brittany Walters-Bearden, TMCnet Contributor

RV Owners often tout the wonders of having “all the comforts of home,” but this saying has never been truer than it is now thanks to KVH (News - Alert) TracVision R1, which delivers premium satellite television from DISH Network or DIRECTV to RV enthusiasts. This service will be available for any recreational vehicle – motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth-wheelers – you name it, you can get it, as long as you are in the continental United States.

One key point for TracVision R1 is that it is fully functional while the vehicle is moving, unlike previous types of units, which lost signal while moving and were only functional once the vehicle was stationary. Jim George, the director of sales for satellite products with KVH Industries (News - Alert), is extremely excited about their new product. George commented in a statement, "Adding satellite TV is an excellent way to make a motorhome truly feel like home. The TracVision R1 allows you to enjoy your favorite shows, news, weather, sports, and even cartoons with the grandkids in your RV just as you would in a traditional home.”

Their design and reliability, George says, it what makes this announcement so exciting for RV owners; “The TracVision R1's compact design and outstanding reliability make it a valuable addition to any vehicle, especially with KVH's nationwide network of factory-certified dealers providing easy-to-find installation and service wherever you travel."

Weighing only seven-and-a-half pounds and measuring twelve-and-a-half inches in diameter, it is much smaller and more compact than other systems that allow in-motion service. Installation is also easy, as the TracVision R1 is small. The TracVision R1 also comes in two designs to meet various needs.

The TracVision R1ST includes an exclusive, integrated 12V DIRECTV receiver/controller, to which users just add a television and their subscription information, making DIRECTV's standard-definition programming available. For those RV travelers who use DISH Network or wants to be able to easily switch among satellite television service providers, the TracVision R1DX offers a 12V multiservice interface box/controller, which supports virtually all home receivers from DISH Network and DIRECTV.

For motorhome drivers, this new advance in satellite technology makes a perfect way to entertain guests and children while traveling to their ultimate destination.
