GLDS Integrates WinCable Subscriber Management and Billing System to Ignite Payments

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Great Lakes Data Systems (GLDS), a provider of billing, subscriber management and provisioning systems suitable for small to medium broadband providers, has completed the integration of its WinCable subscriber management and billing system with Ignite Payments.

Garrick Russell, president of GLDS, said, “While GLDS has long offered multiple credit card processing channels, our support for the Ignite Payments solution was driven largely by a desire to bring more competitive options to the market.”

Ignite Payments is a subsidiary of First Data, a credit card processing platform based on the GGe4, which is First Data’s processing gateway. It is expected that this combined solution can deliver credit card processing options to more GLDS customers cost effectively. GLDS will now be able to optimize credit card processing expenses and customer satisfaction owing to the integration of the new billing system.

BizUnite and the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) recently picked Ignite Systems as a preferred processing partner. NCTC tested Ignite Systems’ capabilities as a payment processing company and how it can improve profitability before selecting it.

“NCTC support for Ignite Payments made integrating with them a no-brainer. GLDS has invested considerable resources to ensure we provide our customers with efficient, cost effective ways of managing payment processing, and we’re proud to be working with Ignite Payments to help further that goal,” Russell added.

Ignite Payments’ agent Jerry Smith remarked, “Our desire to streamline payment processing for member companies in order to maximize efficiency and ultimately improve profitability creates a synergy between the three organizations, which transforms into a win-win-win for all stakeholders.”

GLDS operates interfaces with more than 70 partner companies globally besides covering all service verticals. Small to medium-sized operators with tier-one functionality benefit from the lower prices offered by GLDS. The company delivers both stand-alone and cloud-based billing, subscriber management, field management and provisioning software to clients.

Recently, GLDS announced that it has added Click! Network and BCI Broadband to its list of broadband service provider customers, who rely on GLDS for subscriber management, billing provisioning and workforce management solutions. GLDS solutions support more than 400 operators in 44 countries worldwide.
