Casa Systems' Summer Full of Announcements, Wins

By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Managing Editor

Summertime can be a lazy time for many. Students are off from school, families are at the beach. But for others, it’s the busiest time of all. That holds true for movie theaters and mini golf places. But it’s also true for Casa Systems, a provider of cable edge services. Its summer has been full of announcements and customer wins.

Back in May, the next generation cable edge technology specialist launched its new integrated converged cable access platform (I-CCAP), the C100G. The product is designed to ease the migration to next generation IP services for cable operators. Industry analysts believe that this product will help Casa Systems solidify its position in the United States and around the world as cable operators begin to make decisions about CCAP.

In June, Casa Systems scored two customer wins in Europe. First, the largest cable operator in France, Numericable, selected the C10G cable modem termination system from Casa Systems to support the rollout of ultra high speed data and VoIP services. The C10G will help Numericable deploy the UHSD services to its customer base of over 9.8 million households.

Also in June, the largest cable operator in Finland, DNA Ltd, chose the C10G chassis in order to deliver high-density functionality to its cable network. This will help DNA offer highly scalable broadband services to its customer base, which tops 600,000 homes, and will also allow the Finnish cable operator to transition seamlessly to CCAP in the near future.
