By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor

Centina Systems, a provider of service assurance and service quality management solutions, recently announced that its NetOmnia Cable Assurance solution has been selected by cable TV operator WOW! WOW! had earlier deployed Centina’s NetOmnia Fault, Performance and Service Vision solutions.

According to officials from Centina, NetOmnia enables service providers to use a single solution to manage any infrastructure: network, systems, applications, facilities and security. The solution can be easily deployed and can be maintained and extended without programming or advanced training. NetOmnia provides customer-centric visualization and monitoring capabilities that are technology-independent and do not require extensive ongoing resources to maintain complex correlation and suppression rules.

Owing to all these features, NetOmnia was also chosen by Telesur, a South American operator which provides wireless and broadband communications solutions in Suriname, South America. The company’s infrastructure is a mix of mobile, data, VoIP and legacy TDM networks.

This newest deployment will help WOW! integrate core information with the broadband network to provide end-to-end view of service health, improving visibility and ultimately customer experience across its services. Also, the easy-to-use graphical user interface (UI) of the solution is designed to provide the company with real-time visibility on the status of its broadband customers.

According to Cash Hagen, CTO, WOW!, NetOmnia has provided the company with various benefits, justifying its decision. The biggest benefit, according to Hagen, has been improved end-to-end network visibility and easy monitoring of real-time analytics.

“We are pleased to deploy our Cable Assurance solution with WOW! for real-time, comprehensive network visualization, to help optimize their performance, reduce operations costs, and improve the customer experience,” added Anand Gonuguntla, co-founder and CEO, Centina Systems. “As WOW!’s networks continue to evolve, NetOmnia is able to provide an assurance solution that goes beyond existing network monitoring to include intelligence about all elements of the end-user experience.”
