IDC to Upgrade Bolivia TV's Broadcasting Equipment

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

Bolivia TV is said to have contracted International Datacasting (News - Alert) (IDC) in order to enhance its broadcasting capabilities. Seven of the IDC’s (News - Alert) high performance TITAN Video Encoders and eleven of its rugged and compact HMR Receivers will be deployed throughout Bolivia.

Ruben Dario Marquez Choque, technical manager for Bolivia TV, said, “We believe that the winning formula of IDC’s functionality, flexibility and quality coupled with our healthy on-going relationship will be a driving force for Bolivia TV's success, as we stay a step ahead of the latest technological challenges in broadcasting.”

With the obligation to serve over 10.5 million diverse subscribers across Bolivia, Bolivia TV will find it easy to broadcast events across the country using IDC’s high quality solutions.

IDC explained that its TITAN video encoders blend together updated core technology capable of delivering new levels of performance, with an overall product design based on nearly two decades of outside broadcast experience. It features intuitive menus and front panel controls that are designed to allow operators to define and enable compression and modulation parameters with only minimal training. The encoders support for open standards and full interoperability testing make them suitable for any broadcast environment.

The TITAN encoders use the combined prowess of the DVB-S2 modulation and advanced MPEG-4 AVC compression which results in audio and video feeds that cause lesser satellite bandwidth costs.

The company’s HMR video receivers are rugged, compact, multi-format professional IRDs that can be deployed in broadcast contribution and distribution applications where multiple video formats (SD and HD), interface flexibility (Satellite and IP) and content protection (BISS) are required.

The HMR receivers are built with advanced features like SD and HD decoding, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 decoding, 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 decoding, video resolution conversion, aspect ratio conversion, SDI and NTSC/PAL composite SD output, ASI, DVB-S, DVB-S2, MPEG over IP, and DS3/E3 input options, MPEG, AAC, AC3, Dolby E or uncompressed audio support and more.

Doug Lowther, chief executive officer at IDC added, “We look forward to building our relationship with Bolivia TV by providing solutions that offer great value with outstanding results.”
