Momentum Offers Caller ID on TV to Cable Operators and Municipalities

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Momentum has announced the addition of the Caller ID on TV feature to its product line with Interactive TV applications for Tier 2 and Tier 3 operators.

Allowing users to customize to accommodate multiple lines, special features include Caller ID Notification, a notification that pops up on the TV screen when a call is received; Call Log, the ability to view call history on TV; and Telephony Controls. These features allow the customer to turn services on and off. Momentum is exploring the options of adopting additional features such as Picture Caller ID and PC Caller ID, in addition to these existing features. Momentum provides independent cable operators and municipalities throughout the U.S.

“The decision to go with Momentum to provide this service presents numerous benefits for both cable partners and their customers,” said Alan Creighton, CEO of Momentum. ”Our cloud-based, equipment-free system means there are zero operator costs for equipment and maintenance, which enables us to provide partners a cost-effective solution that is easy to deploy. Momentum establishes a VPN with participating operators that give their customers access to the technology of Caller ID on TV.”

Momentum is confident that this initiative will be deployed with great success and has received huge demand by operators and their subscribers with its diverse team of cable plant and voice experts. Beginning in August, this service will be available to all Momentum partners that support two-way communications. Dedicated to continually offering the latest technologies to its partners as a top priority, Momentum is committed to providing advanced communication services.

Recently, the company announced from the NCTC Winter Educational Conference that it has partnered with Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS) to provide OSS and billing integration, allowing operators to manage services from a single point-of-entry interface. The solution manages everything from order entry to service updates including adding, suspending, restoring and disconnecting modems. This integration aims to eliminate the need for disparate systems.
