The immense popularity of smartphones has given rise to a new breed of televisions called smart TVs. Apart from displaying high quality pictures; these advanced television sets provide lots of interactive features to users, such as playing cloud based games. But playing on-demand games on your TV requires a platform and there are many available in the market.

Naturally, companies who are dealing in this emerging domain will witness expansions and increased business. TransGaming Inc., a company that provides on-demand family friendly and social games to the TV, has announced that the company witnessed massive growth of its product expansion that brings TransGaming's GameTree TV platform to Sharp (News - Alert)'s 2014 AQUOS LED Smart TVs.

Sharp will feature GameTree TV on its SmartCentral 3.0 Smart TV platform, which will expand GameTree TV's availability to even more users. With this partnership, GameTree TV becomes available with almost all the leading consumer electronics brands in the world.

“Distribution through Sharp AQUOS Smart TVs continues GameTree TV's domination of the cloud gaming market on Smart TVs," said Vikas Gupta, CEO & president of TransGaming. "This continues to expand the GameTree TV reach to millions of consumers, making GameTree TV the de facto standard for the delivery of high quality games within the living room. We have established the largest footprint of any cloud gaming provider in the world.”

Looking to continue its dominance in the gaming industry, the company recently roped in games industry veteran Fredrik Liljegren as vice president of the Graphics and Portability Group. Liljegren was one of four founders and the CEO of Digital Illusions Computer Entertainment (DICE).
