Ventev Announces New TerraWave Wi-Fi Antennas

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Ventev Wireless Infrastructure recently broadened its TerraWave (News - Alert) portfolio of high-density solutions by adding three new antenna products to its product line. The new releases are an ideal fit for Wi-Fi deployments in large venues with several concurrent users.

The company’s latest release 4 dBi High-Density Patch antennas can be used at accommodations with lower ceilings and multi-levels like classrooms and lecture halls, where floor-to-floor meddling exists and signal bounce must be reduced.

Latest technology backed 6 dBi High-Density Patch antenna with narrower beam width is one among the newly released, which has narrow beamwidths of 55 degrees at 2.4 GHz and 35 degrees at 5 GHz.  The new 6dBi antenna matches the portfolio of 6dBi TerraWave antennas, enabling the users to reduce the number of users per access point (AP), while enhancing the capacity and improving the individual Wi-Fi user experience.

The company has also released Co-locating Mount, which has an easy-to-install mount option and allows both the high-density antenna and the AP to be co-located in one décor-friendly unit. The artistically built unit hides equipment and wires and is rugged enough to be used in tough environments like warehouses and manufacturing plants, or other high-ceiling facilities.

“Our experience deploying high-performance Wi-Fi networks in large venues has enabled us to identify the key interference and co-location issues that needed to be solved,” said Jeff Lime (News - Alert), Vice President of Ventev Wireless Infrastructure. “These new additions to the TerraWave product line are the result of our working closely with campuses and stadiums, among others, to solve these issues with innovative new products.”

Ventev Wireless Infrastructure is a division of TESSCO Technologies Inc., offering extensive line of products such as antennas, enclosures, cable, and solar-powered base stations that support the networks and their applications both indoors and outdoors.

The company’s TerraWave product line of Wi-Fi antennas feature a broad range of technical specifications and offers a variety of mounting options (ceiling, wall, mast/pole, under the seat) to ensure the right product is selected for the right application.
