Sony Electronics, the sales and marketing arm of Sony’s global electronics business, is a provider of audio/video electronics and information technology products for the consumer and professional markets. The company recently announced pricing and availability for its new 4K Ultra HD Media Player (FMP-X10).

Launched at CES (News - Alert) in January this year, the Sony FMP-X10 replaces the FMP-X1 released last year and it gives users the ability to download, stream and store hundreds of films and TV shows from Sony's own Video Unlimited 4K service. It also offers access to Netflix, for 4K content streaming, such as the recently added House of Cards Season 2.

Currently, this product is made available for pre-sale and available for purchase starting in July. The 4K Ultra HD Media Player will retail for $699; however, consumers who pre-order between May 15 and July 15 will save $200.

The Media Player offers 1 TB of built-in storage and also supports TRILUMINOS Color for rich and deep color. The Media Player is compatible with any Sony 4K Ultra HD TV or 4K Ultra HD projector, and is ideal for customers looking to upgrade their current 4K TVs or projectors to support the latest in 4K technologies.

Video Unlimited 4K, the world's largest library of 4K content for the home, now offers over 200 titles. The Video Unlimited 4K service offers a wide variety of fan favorite and new release titles in full 4K resolution from Sony Pictures. This lineup includes recent box office successes such as American Hustle and The Monuments Men, as well as future titles like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Annie (2014)--which are planned to be available on the service following their upcoming theatrical releases.

In addition to the latest theatrical titles, Video Unlimited 4K also features ongoing episodes of the hit TV series The Blacklist in full 4K. Over 50 titles are available to consumers at no charge.

The 4K Media Player with Video Unlimited 4K will be available for purchase at Sony stores, other authorized dealers nationwide and online at store.sony.com.
