Sandvine OutReach's New Version Announced

By Rahul Arora, TMCnet Contributor

Sandvine (News - Alert), a provider of intelligent network policy control solutions for fixed, mobile, and converged operators, recently announced the newest version of Sandvine OutReach, a subscriber communications and interaction product that provides operators with device-agnostic tools to interact with subscribers.

With Sandvine OutReach, a company can send out real-time alerts to subscribers regarding their remaining or consumed quota, a possible infection with malicious software as well as regulatory notifications. The solution is also a good tool for promotion as companies can make subscribers aware of the new products or offers. The alerts can be sent in the form of unobtrusive in-browser notifications or one-way notifications via SMS, USSD, or email.

"Operators need to effectively communicate with subscribers regardless of the device and application they are using.  Sandvine OutReach provides operators with the ability to connect with subscribers on any device that has a web browser or that can receive a text message, and does so in a way that does not interfere with their current activities." said Tom Donnelly, co-founder and COO, Sales and Global Services.

Sandvine's network policy control solutions help fixed, mobile and converged communications service provider networks to provide services that can increase revenue and reduce network costs. Powered by Sandvine's Policy Engine and SandScript policy language, Sandvine's networking equipment performs end-to-end policy control functions including traffic classification, and policy decision and enforcement across the data, control and business planes.

In related news, Sandvine recently announced that it has received approximately $7 million in orders from two tier-1 cable operators in North America – one existing customer and one new customer, through a competitive displacement. The order represents an initial deployment of Sandvine's Network Analytics software and a major expansion of the deployment of Sandvine's policy traffic switch hardware across the network, to support both Network Analytics and policy use cases that improve subscribers' quality of experience.
