SiTune Corporation Announces Low Power Dual TV Tuner for Terrestrial and Cable Applications

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

SiTune Corporation, a major player in CMOS radio-frequency (RF), mixed signal and signal processing solutions for broadcasting, cable and satellite television, has unveiled low power single-die dual/diversity terrestrial/cable/analog CMOS TV tuner.

Officials with SiTune Corporation said that STN-55T4800 is a highly integrated 50MHz-1GHz dual Tuner with small footprint that delivers best signal reception and adjacent channel rejection performance in different digital cable and Terrestrial standards.

Company officials said that STN55T4800 is based on STN55T4400, the low power hybrid tuner that is sampling now with several design-wins among manufacturers of TV and set top box sets.

Thanks to this, customers will now be able to deploy STN55T4800 in any of the T/T or C/C with integrated loop through, T/C with two independent RF input or, diversity configurations.

The Intermediate Frequency (IF) is programmable between 3MHz and 6MHz and is acceptable to all commercially available demodulators.

According to company officials, STN55T4800, with 150mW/channel and a 7x7 QFN package, offers the lowest cost and power while meeting all the tough standards in terrestrial and cable space such as DVB-T, ATSC and SCTE.

It is also able to receive Analog-TV signals with excellent sensitivity and high SNR.

Back in March 2010, SiTune Corporation had announced a state of the art and revolutionary mobile DVB-T receiver SOC. STN-10R3000 is a highly integrated mobile DVB-T demodulator plus multi-band RF tuner in a single die with small foot print that deliver best signal reception and mobility performance in all modes of the DVB-T standard especially in 64 QAM modulation.

Precise and clear reception of DVB-T signal in different modulations in both fixed and mobile application is achieved by integration of SiTune advance mobile RF tuner architecture with SiTune latest COFDM based demodulator. STN10R3000 is packed with state of art signal processing techniques and multifaceted algorithms.
