Oracle Showcases TM Forum's Frameworx at Management World Americas 2011

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

At the Management World Americas 2011, Oracle, a provider of software and systems in the communications industry technology landscape, in conjunction with Cognizant (News - Alert), IBB Consulting, Incognito Software, Infonova, OpenVault, Tektronix Communications and TMNG Global, explained how one can quickly launch and fulfill new cable services as part of the TM Forum’s (News - Alert) ‘Frameworx for New Cable Services” Catalyst project.

Developed in TM Forum’s unique Collaboration Community, Frameworx is stated to be the result of ongoing collaboration development by TM Forum’s member companies from across the industry. Frameworx is driven by service provider requirements, and is constantly evolving in line with market needs. Frameworx enables a service-oriented, highly automated and efficient approach to running a service provider’s business through business process, information, application and integration frameworks.

According to TM Forum, the Frameworx for Cable demonstrates how to deliver new services such as TV Everywhere with increased speed to market, improved operational effectiveness and monetization capabilities. The project supposedly brought out the development of a cable business process “quick start pack” that underlines the business processes needed to offer services using common cable concepts mapped in Frameworx.

Oracle explained that its Rapid Offer Design and Order Delivery is the industry’s only fully integrated, productized solution that cost-effectively reduces time to market for new offer introduction and enables accurate order delivery across all customer service channels. It is the first solution that has received TM Forum's Frameworx Conformance Solution Certification, together with Oracle (News - Alert) Communications ASAP for service activation.

Officials with Oracle remarked that by building upon TM Forum's Frameworx Conformance Certified, pre-integrated productized solution, cable operators can quickly design and efficiently deliver new cable services. At the same time, adopting a TM Forum Frameworx certified solution enables cable operators to share the investment with, and leverage the experience of, providers in other industry segments, in particular mobile and wireline telecom operators, cloud services providers and convergent services providers to reduce the risk, time and cost of BSS/OSS transformations.
