Time Warner Cable Debuts Online Offerings from HBO GO and MAX GO

Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable, a provider of video, high-speed data and voice services in the United States, announced the successful completion of the beta trial of online video and the company announced the launch of HBO's authenticated online video destinations HBO GO and MAX GO for Time Warner Cable customers who subscribe to HBO and Cinemax.

Time Warner Cable initiated a beta test on January 4th 2012, of the HBO GO and MAX GO "TV Everywhere" services, limiting access to SignatureHome customers initially before making it widely available. Time Warner Cable recently reached an agreement with premium programmer to offer the authenticated online and mobile video services.

With successful completion of the beta trial, Time Warner Cable has made such online video destinations available at no additional cost to HBO and Cinemax subscribers, providing unlimited access to hundreds of hours of unique and compelling programming our customers can enjoy anytime and anywhere. With over 1,400 HBO titles and 400 Cinemax titles online, HBO GO and MAX GO are the perfect complement to an already robust lineup and provide our customers with even more viewing choices.

The company statement also clarified that HBO GO is only accessible in the US where a high speed broadband connection is available. Minimum connection of 3 Mbps required for HD viewing.

HBO’s streaming project launched in 2010 through Verizon FiOS, and later through DirecTV and AT&T (News - Alert) U-Verse. HBO Go is now available on a variety of other networks as a result of master agent agreements, including DISH Network and Comcast (News - Alert) Xfinity.

TMCnet recently reported that in order to offer the next generation of home management, security and connectivity solutions to customers, iControl Networks (News - Alert), a company in broadband home management, has signed a deal with Time Warner Cable IntelligentHome solution. Under this deal, iControl Networks’ OpenHome software platform is powering the Time Warner Cable IntelligentHome solution.
