CSG Enables National Lampoon to Manage, Monetize Content

By Greg Galitzine, Group Editorial Director

CSG Systems (News - Alert) has long been viewed as a billing company, but company officials made it clear to me at the recent Cable Show that they are more than that.

Said CSG CEO Peter Kalan, “We manage the relationship between the service provider and the consumer by providing systems and operational infrastructure for every interaction: Call centers, technicians at home, Web service, paper invoices, electronic kiosks etc…”

“Every touch point is being managed through CSG infrastructure for clients,” Kalan continued. “We believe we help client runs more effectively and efficiently and help them sell more products.”

CSG Systems, recently announced that National Lampoon, a marquee brand in comedy, is deploying CSG’s Content Direct, the company’s video content engagement and monetization solution —— to offer a new online video store where consumers can browse, preview, and purchase movies and other goods and merchandise from the National Lampoon catalog.

“As a global leader in comedy, and one of the most trafficked network of humor sites on the Web, the new capabilities we can offer our customers through CSG Content Direct fortifies our brand and will help us better support sales of all our video content and merchandise,” said Daniel Laikin, President and CEO of National Lampoon.

CSG’s Content Direct solution is designed to allow content creators, aggregators and distributors to easily and effectively market, monetize and manage content and customers. The solution is available as either a set of software services or as an integrated solution, and allows content companies of all sizes to increase the value and return of every content transaction. The solution is integrated with leading payment and advertising management systems.

CSG also announced the availability of new product catalog and offer management capabilities designed to help service providers quickly introduce new product bundles, target promotional offers based on qualified customer attributes, improve sales effectiveness and reduce call center handling times.
