Enablence Technologies Offers Trident7 Universal Access Platform

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Enablence Technologies announced the successful integration and deployment of its Trident7 Universal Access Platform to production customers with Servei de Telecommunications d’Andorra (STA) or The Andorran Telecommunications Service.

Enablence supplies fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) equipment required for residential and business services. STA launched full-scale production deployment of the all-fiber network in May.

Enablence caters to a worldwide market and it designs, manufactures and sells optical components, subsystems and systems. The company’s Wave7 (News - Alert) FTTx Networks Division offers Trident7(TM) Universal Optical Line Terminals (OLTs), Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), and the Trident7(TM) Element Management System. This provides triple-play data, IPTV (News - Alert) and VoIP services. Soon the network is expected to offer advanced IP services for over 45,000 residences and other business customers in Andorra.

Enablence Trident7 will be used by STA’s network as an overbuild replacement for the legacy DSL network.

“Trident7 provides out-of-the-box support for STA’s full suite of all-IP services, and our solution’s open northbound interface allowed us to directly integrate with their existing OSS/BSS Systems for ease in deployment,” said Emmanuel Vella, vice-president of sales and marketing for Enablence Technologies’ FTTx Networks Division, in a statement.

Vella pointed out that a big part of providing a superior platform means working with customers to make their envisioned network a reality, and that his company was dedicated to that ideal.

Jaume Salvat, Director General and CEO of STA added that the new Trident7 network represents a huge leap forward from the copper network that it replaces. The wealth and depth of advanced services made possible by an all data GE-PON network is unprecedented for customers, and Enablence’s ability to fully integrate their solution quickly into STA’s network has been instrumental for success.

The recent acquisition of Wave7 by Enablence would enhance prospects of a full optical and systems level approach to FTTP.

Arvind Chhatbar, CEO of Enablence expressed his happiness on being able to work with STA in deploying their advanced FTTP network. The Trident7 solution is expected to be a perfect match for STA’s requirements and together with STA Enablence will be leading the deployment of FTTP by European PTTs.

STA provides telecommunication services in the Andorran territory. The services includes  fixed telephones, mobile telephones, data transmission, Internet and other auxiliary or supplementary telecommunication services besides including matters referring to international communications. It also manages the technical infrastructure and national broadcasting networks for TV and radio.
