Sandvine Announces Five Customer Wins

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Sandvine (News - Alert) has announced five new international customer wins, two of which came through strategic reseller partner relationships.

The provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for cable, DSL, FTTx, fixed wireless and mobile operators has won a new wireless carrier. Located in the Philippines, this service provider is deploying Sandvine’s PTS platform along with applications from Sandvine's service creation suite of solutions in order to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of their evolving data pricing framework.

Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sandvine, Tom Donnelly, said in a statement that 22.3 million smart phones were sold worldwide in 2007, and wireless operators have responded with the introduction of a growing range of compelling service and pricing options. He expressed his company’s delight to offer solutions that help reduce the complexity of introducing and communicating such plans to wireless users.

The company has also bagged four new DSL customers, located in Indonesia, Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom. These four new contracts together represent approximately one million broadband subscribers, said the company. All four new DSL customers have selected Sandvine’s Policy Traffic Switch (PTS) platform along with various applications from Sandvine's network integrity and traffic optimization suite of solutions. The company explains that together, these solutions help service providers protect subscribers from malicious traffic and optimally share network resources.

Donnelly noted that with the evolution of the Internet, broadband and mobile data providers alike are making ongoing investments to improve the efficiency and performance of their networks. He added that service providers are choosing Sandvine's intelligent network and policy management platform to protect against malicious threats and help deliver a better broadband experience to their customers.

Sandvine is focused on protecting and improving the quality of experience on the Internet. Boasting more than 110 customers in over 40 countries, Sandvine's international growth has been augmented by its strategic reseller relationships. Last week, the company announced two new customer wins and the opening of a new sales and support office in the Middle Eastern region. The customers have selected Sandvine’s Policy Traffic Switch (PTS) platform and various applications from Sandvine’s service creation, network integrity and traffic optimization suite of solutions.
