AldeaVision Solutions, an innovative provider of global broadcast video services, today announced that it has been airing the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games for several customers in North and South America since August 8, 2008.

Earlier this year, AldeaVision signed several contracts so it could transmit the Beijing Olympics live with major broadcasters in Mexico, Argentina and Chile.

AldeaVision is providing right holders broadcasters with end-to-end managed video transmission services over its global fiber network, which now includes Beijing. Managed from AldeaVision's 24x7 network monitoring and control center in Montreal, the transmissions will be offered in both Standard Definition and High Definition (HDTV) formats.

"It is a tremendous vote of confidence that major broadcasters from Mexico, Argentina and Chile have placed on our Company. It is extremely gratifying to be recognized by your customers as one of the premier video services companies in the world capable of providing live transmissions for this prestigious event," said Lionel Bentolila, AldeaVision's president and chief executive officer.

"AldeaVision expertise in international fiber-based video services and end-to-end management capabilities were key factors in being selected for this world event," Bentolila added.
AldeaVision is a regular provider of international broadcast transmissions for political, entertainment and sports events. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, several major broadcasters relied on AldeaVision's services.
