Asia Broadcasting Television said they have adopted RocketStream (News - Alert) file transfer acceleration solution for mission-critical long distance media ingestion requirements.

 

Asia Broadcasting Television Company, Ltd. (ABtv) is a Thai company focusing on the distribution of cable television media content. They provide multi-channel television program services to cable operators throughout Thailand.

 

RocketStream, Inc., a subsidiary of Voyant (News - Alert) International Corporation and they claim to develop technologies and solutions to accelerate digital content delivery over high-bandwidth IP networks. RocketStream solution is a software-based file transfer acceleration solution that is said to make data transfers fast, easy to use, secure, and reliable.

 

According to ABtv officials, the TV network owns high-bandwidth Internet and private network connections to aggregate the content it gathers from its sources but even with a fast network the company faces problems like high network latencies and unreliable FTP connections which in turn slowed media ingestion operations. And the company sees RocketStream as a solution to these problems.

 

RocketStream is stated to be an all-software-based data transfer suite that can accelerate file transfers up to 200 times faster than FTP in a secure, reliable, and easy-to-use fashion. "We are now using Rocket stream to accelerate our media delivery between ABtv in Thailand and our partner company, Asia Broadcasting International, Inc., in the USA," said Chirasak Sriwirom, managing director of ABtv.

The data transfer in the Pacific Rim area is very high and media markets are growing rapidly too and RocketStream claims that its solution is capable of meeting the rising demands.
