By Bob Emmerson, TMC European Editor

Openet (News - Alert), a provider of transactional intelligence solutions for large service providers, announced that Canadian cable provider Videotron has selected its Convergent Mediation product, which runs on the company’s FusionWorks FrameWork.

The product will allow Videotron to reduce costs through consolidated billing mediation, while increasing revenue by ensuring service availability.

"The Canadian cable market is heating up, and we needed a flawless, scalable mediation solution to support our data, video and voice business," said André Gascon, vice president at Videotron’s 3G and wireless technologies division. "We had to find a solution that could answer our growing customer demand without any negative impact.”

"The cable industry is changing rapidly, and cable providers need to get ahead of the game regarding their infrastructures," said Mike Manzo, chief marketing officer of Openet.  "By selecting a solution that supports not only existing needs but can meet future market demands, Videotron is poised for both growth and innovation."
