Cablevision to Enhance Video Voice and High-speed Internet Services

By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor

The Office of Strategic Product Development set up by Cablevision will help the company to enhance its video, voice and high-speed internet services. It will ensure that the company’s expanding base of residential and business customers get quality and advanced technical products.

The newly formed group will maintain their focus on long range products and their enhancements as the company has appointed Wilt Hildenbrand and Kristin Dolan as co-managers of the group.

Hildenbrand is the company's senior advisor of engineering and technology and was the executive VP of engineering and technology. The company says his achievements include getting the company the 2005 NCTA (News - Alert) Vanguard Award for Science & Technology.

Dolan on the other hand worked on the formation, launch and continued development of Cablevision's iO TV digital cable service which achieved the highest rate of digital penetration in the country. Cablevision's iO TV product included advanced features like video on demand (VOD) and interactive television applications for every customer, product attributes that are now ubiquitous across the industry, and recognized as key competitive advantages over cable's competitors.

Four Emmy awards were also presented to the company to honor their service innovation in interactive television and navigation. Dolan also worked as the company’s senior vice president of digital product management. Dolan has gone on to strategic consulting roles at Madison Square Garden and related businesses.

"We look forward to working together to explore and develop new opportunities for Cablevision's products and further extend our technological superiority in the marketplace," Hildenbrand and Dolan said.

They concluded, "We will be focusing on navigation across all of our services and technological opportunities in new areas, including digital, data, voice, WiFi (News - Alert), on demand, commerce, mobile video, security and other home utilities."

Officials say their co-management of the group will be backed by the expertise of Cablevision’s Patrick Donoghue who will be the new senior vice president of strategic product development and Jonathan Greenfield who will now serve as the senior vice president of strategic product advancement.

Cablevision said the new unit will coordinate with its existing corporate engineering and technology department, as well as the operating businesses and product groups across the company.
