NHK Selects Omniture SiteCatalyst for New Internet Television Service

Japan Broadcasting Corporation, also known as NHK, has selected Omniture SiteCatalyst for its new Internet-based television program delivery service, dubbed NHK on Demand.
 
The NHK operates two terrestrial television services, three satellite television services and three radio networks in Japan. It also provides an international broadcasting service called NHK World.
 
After the amendments to Japanese broadcasting laws, NHK got green signal to deliver video content via the Internet. Some programs of Radio Japan are also available on the Internet.
 
NHK has now got a valuable consumer insight, such as how videos are viewed, likings of the consumers, as well recognise the revenue generating programs to help establish and grow this new business using Omniture (News - Alert) SiteCatalyst.

Omniture explains SiteCatalyst as a foundational product that uses company’s Online Business Optimization Platform. It provides actionable, real-time intelligence regarding online strategies and marketing initiatives. It also helps in identifying the most profitable paths through one’s Web site, where visitors are dropping off, what's driving critical success events, and how different segments of visitors interact on Web site.
